getting going…
I make tea, turn on the fairy lights and computers, and start messing about.
capturing the seed…
Using Reaper (my Digital Audio Workstation or DAW), I usually start with a piano sketch, outlining a tune or harmonic progression that draws me into a different world.
then the hard work…
Creating a structure, choosing instruments, and layering in other sounds, I follow the original inspiration through a soundscape wilderness filled with potential, to eventually exporting the final audio.
adding clarinet…
It’s my buddy, my voice, my familiar, and I love to use it as much as I can.
Here, I’m experimenting with layering it with harp, celeste and synth pad.
